What Privacy Settings You Can Change In Windows 10

#Windows10 #SoftwareWhat Privacy Settings You Can Change In Windows 10 : Windows 10 is Microsoft’s latest operating system and it’s installed on 400 million devices out of 1 billion – as the company is hoping to reach in two years.

Unfortunately, things are not so good because users have complained about all kinds of privacy issues and they want to feel more secure while using the platform. There are a few solutions that will improve your Windows 10 experience and below we’ll tell you what to do to reclaim your privacy.

Don’t Let Cortana Get To Know You

Cortana is an awesome virtual personal assistant and what makes her so intelligent is her desire to get to know you. She will learn about you based on the way you interact with your device, so she will memorize your handwriting and typing patterns.

Windows 10 will use the “Get to know you” feature to collect more info about you such as your location, contacts, calendar and browsing history, and not many users agree to let Microsoft know so many things about them.

This feature can be turned off by going to Settings > Speech, inking, & typing and under Getting to know you, you will just click Stop getting to know me.

How To Turn Off Your Location

There are many third-party applications that need your location to work, and Windows 10 does the same on mobile devices, for its Maps app. If you leave your location switched on, Windows 10 collects your device’s location history for an entire day and that data is accesses by apps with location permission.

By turning off location data, you will no longer let apps that use your location to find you. So, head to the Settings menu > Location and turn off location for all users or for your account. Since you’re in this menu, it’s indicated to clear your Location history, as well.

How To Stop Syncing

When syncing your settings and notifications, including your passwords, they will be accessed on any device after you sign into your account. If you don’t want to sync your data across other devices, go to Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings and turn off all setting syncing at once, or toggle individual sync settings off. Notification syncing can be turned off by opening Cortana and heading to Settings > Send notifications between devices. Source:Neurogadget
