#Samsung #SurfaceKiller – Samsung Launches a Microsoft Surface Killer with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD : Samsung has recently unveiled its latest 2-in-1 device that’s positioned as a Microsoft Surface competitor, coming with a detachable keyboard and running Windows 10.
The Samsung Galaxy TabPro S Gold Edition is an exquisite device that features very powerful hardware, and it all starts with the 12-inch display.
The super AMOLED display has a resolution of 2160×1440 pixels and is supposed to provide crystal-clear image quality, vivid colors, and perfectly balanced contrast. Or at least, that’s what Samsung promises, so all of this remains to be seen when we get our hands on the device.
Other than the display, the new TabPro S is powered by an Intel Core M3 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, and while this is a good option for a Windows 10 device, and even Microsoft is offering an M3 version of the Surface, it’s still lagging behind configurations with i5 or i7 processors.
Samsung installed 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of SDD storage, while also offering two 5-megapixel cameras on the front and the back. The battery is a 5,200 mAh unit which should provide 10.5 hours of video playing time according to Samsung specs.
Without keyboard, the tablet weighs only 1.53 pounds (690 grams), so it’s quite light, and with the gold finish, it certainly looks like a beautiful piece of art.
On the other hand, the device costs $999, and at the same price, the Microsoft’s Surface is offering much more than that. For example, the Surface Pro 4 with 4GB RAM, 128 GB storage, and Intel Core i5 processor is available for just $899, so it’s $100 cheaper. Even though it’s only a little bit inferior in terms of specs, it offers better value for the money and also includes a Surface Pen.
The Samsung device comes running Windows 10 Home, whereas the Surface is powered by Windows 10 Pro. In both cases, the keyboard needs to be purchased separately. source:softpedia
