It has been revealed that Acer’s latest offering is almost half as thin as Apple’s famous lightweight laptop. However, tech enthusiasts have been wondering if it can really compete with the legendary hardware design that the MacBook Air has long been known for. The two lightweight devices both have 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage space. However, the MacBook Air 2016 has a variant with an SSD of up to 512GB.
Both laptops are powered by Intel HD Graphics that can be viewed via a 13.3-inch LED-backlit display. However, the resolution of the Acer Swift 7 is higher at 1,920 x 1,080 versus the 2016 Air’s 1,440 x 900 resolution.
The MacBook Air 2016 has 3 USB ports, a Thunderbolt 2 port, and a headphone jack. Acer’s offering as 2 USB Type-C ports and a headphone jack.
The MacBook Air allegedly edges out the Acer Swift 7 when it comes to power. This is in terms of manufacturer estimates and claims that the Air can offer up to 12 hours of power versus Swift’s nine hours.
