Microsoft’s Xbox One S deals major Sony PS4 blow: But PS4 Pro could turn tide

#XboxOneS #PS4Microsoft’s Xbox One S deals major Sony PS4 blow: But PS4 Pro could turn tide : Xbox One S console sales trumped Sony PS4 once again for a third month running in the US, according to NPD data. A series of price cuts to older Xbox One hardware and the launch of the “Sleeker.

Slimmer. Sharper.” Xbox One S, meant Microsoft were once again on top at Sony’s expense. Many would have believed that the launch of Sony’s slim PS4 could have seen them catapulted back to the top in September. Especially with their own console cuts to older PS4 models.

However, the more tangible upgrades to the Xbox One S and a number of console exclusives in the form of Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4 have clearly been a bigger draw for consumers.

Despite some success with PS4 FIFA 17 Bundles in the UK, MCV reported two weeks ago that “sales have so far been slow” for the PS4 slim in the UK. In fact MCV noted that when the launch weeks for PS4 Slim and the 500GB/1TB Xbox One S are compared, “Microsoft’s were stronger to the tune of 361 per cent.”

Since the news of these figures, Microsoft provided a statement to GamesBeat that the Xbox One was also the best-selling console in the UK during September.

“In addition, Xbox One was the only gen eight console to see year-over-year growth in September in the US, Australia, the UK, and many other countries worldwide,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in the statement.

“This success was driven by our fans and their support for Xbox One S, which is the only console available this holiday with built-in UHD 4K Blu-ray, 4K video streaming and HDR for gaming and video.
