PS5 Release Date, Specs, Features: Should You Wait For PlayStation 5 Or Upgrade To PS4 Pro Now?

#PS5 #PS4Pro PS5 Release Date, Specs, Features: Should You Wait For PlayStation 5 Or Upgrade To PS4 Pro Now? : The struggle is real for PlayStation aficionados. Should they wait for the long-rumored PS5 or settle for the upcoming PS4 Pro?

Sony launches a new PlayStation console every six years. Given that the PS4 released in 2013, many in the gaming community believe the PS5 will hit the market in 2019.

The Japanese tech giant decided to switch it up this year by offering a new PS4 console midway through the traditional launch cycle. The PS4 Pro will hit retailers on November 10, 2016.

As its name suggests, the upcoming home device is a beefier version of the PS4. It provides better overall visuals and video playback since it doubles the GPU speed.

The PS4 Pro is equipped with the same eight-core AMD Jaguar x86-64 processor found on the PS4. However, it sports a more powerful AMD Radeon 4.2 TFLOPs GPU. The high-capacity hardware lets users stream videos and games in 4K resolution.

Unfortunately, not everyone can afford two $400 consoles in a span of three years. The PS4 Pro sounds good and all, but why buy it when a bigger and much better console is expected to arrive in 2019?

The answer is simple: there might never be a PS5. Speaking to Oddworld developer Lorne Lanning via Tech Radar, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida said the release of a PS5 was a question of “if” rather than “when.”

Sony is moving towards a more practical way of offering the best gaming experience. Instead of developing and mass producing major console hardware every six years, the company may instead follow the PC concepts of future proofing and upgradability.

Engadget describes this generation as the last console generation. Consoles won’t be disappearing anytime soon. Changes in each new model will just be more incremental in nature. Source: Morningnewsusa
