#NintendoNX #Console – Nintendo NX News: Reveal “Imminent” with release date, price and specs info : The Nintendo NX reddit rumours were sent into overdrive last week at suggestions that the NX could be revealed this week. Now it would seem the wait for more details on this rival to the PS4 Pro and Xbox One S could be coming soon.
French journalist William Audureau, who works for Le Monde, has suggested on Twitter that the Nintendo NX reveal is happening this week. Audureau stated he had heard this from one of his contacts and later made another post saying another industry source had told him the Nintendo NX is “imminent”.
This follows a similar report from a report from investment banking firm Macquerie who also suggested the NX will be showcased this week. The Nintendo NX Macquerie report, via Seeking Alpha, also suggested that the console will cost between $300 and $350.
This price point is a “major” disappointment for volume sales, the firm also said. A $300 / $350 price point for the NX could be speculation from Macquerie’s part, however it does tally with earlier reports.
Last week, another rumour originating from Reddit came from a ‘large Nintendo retail partner’ and suggested the console’s price could sit between $299 and $399.99 for a bundle option. Tesco previously advertised the Nintendo NX with a £349.99 price tag earlier this year, which could potentially rival the PS4 Pro in terms of cost.
However, the online retail source has suggested on the Nintendo NX subReddit that a base unit will retail at $299, meaning that the Nintendo NX launch could come closer to the £250 price mark in the UK. There’s also the possibility of a a bundle option for the NX costing around $399, but it’s not known what’s included in the bundle.
One of the big reveals from Reddit is that Mario will have a launch title, which is prominently seen on the Nintendo NX’s posters. It will also launch with at least 4 new titles. One of these we assume is the Mario game.
The games themselves will supposedly run on cartridges, but anyone hoping for 4K gaming could be disappointed. Sources have suggested 4K will more than likely be only for streaming content like Netflix, rather than the games.
