The Mi 5S is Xiaomi’s current-gen flagship smartphone. It features top-of-the-line specs and functionalities. But according to the latest tech reports, the Chinese manufacturer is set to release an even more superior handset.
Tech Updates got hold of a leaked image, which shows a 6GB RAM and 64MB internal storage variant of Mi 5S. The live still was first posted on the popular Chinese microblogging website Weibo.
The newer Mi 5S will reportedly boot Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow straight out the box. Aside from the aforementioned changes, the higher-end device will have the same features as the original Mi 5S. Its specs include the following:
- 5.15-inch IPS LCD (1080×1920) display with 428 ppi pixel density
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset
- Fingerprint scanner
- Fast battery charging up to 83 percent in 30 minutes
- Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic
- 12-megapixel back camera with dual-LED (dual tone) flash and four-megapixel front-facing unit
- Non-removable 3,200 mAh battery
- USB Type-C port
There’s no word on a release date or how much the 6GB Mi 5S will cost. Last month, the original Mi 5S released in China for the equivalent of $300. Its bigger brother will probably retail for less than $400.
As for the long-rumored Mi Note 2, Xiaomi is expected to launch its next-gen phablet at an October 25 event in Beijing. The company has sent out a teaser image, which shows a dual-curved edge display on the front and dual camera setup on the back, as per Android Pure.
The unofficial retail price of the Mi Note 2 is ¥5699 or roughly $846. By comparison the 16GB Mi Note cost the equivalent of $372. The 16GB Mi Note Pro retailed for approximately $532. source:morningnewsusa
