#Microsoft #SurfacePro5 – Microsoft Surface Pro 5 News, Updates & Specs: New Tablet To Be Announced At Next Year’s MWC, Packing New Skylake Chipset? : There are a lot of rumored big announcements and appearances at the next Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on February 2017. Nokia has already gone on record to state that they will be making a big announcement, possibly for a new line of Nokia-branded Android smartphones. Now Microsoft seems to be gearing up for a reveal of the new Surface Pro 5.
There haven’t been any official word from Microsoft themselves about the next model in their highly-regarded line of tablets, but that hasn’t stopped most of the industry from speculating.
Mobile & Apps is predicting that they’ll be unveiling the Surface Pro 5 at the MWC, and the biggest draw for the new tablet is that it may very well be running on a new Skylake chipset.
The Microsoft Surface Pro used to run on the Intel-manufactured Kaby Lake processor, and the reason for the switch is that its production is delayed to the second half of 2017.
Other rumors surrounding the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is that it will most likely have a 13.3-inch display, and will run on Windows 10 Redstone 2, the latest version of Microsoft’s flagship operating system.
It will come with a 256 GB hard drive, and a whopping 16 GB of RAM, making it one of the fastest portable Windows devices in the market. Couple that with an improved battery capacity and a Surface Pen that’s also rechargeable, and you’ve got a powerful contender in the field.
Because there’s very little word on the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 right now, that means that it’s not even known when a target release date would be. If the Surface Pro 5 is announced at the MWC in February, then it’s very likely to come out sometime in the second quarter of 2017, speculates CNet. We’ll bring you more information when it becomes available. Source: Gamenguide
