Microsoft deals – 50% off the Lumia 650, free Lumia 950 with the 950 XL

#Lumia950 #Lumia950XLMicrosoft deals – 50% off the Lumia 650, free Lumia 950 with the 950 XL : Microsoft is stepping up its Black Friday mobile promotions by offering a steep 50% discount on the Lumia 650. Initially available for $199 unlocked and off-contract, the handset’s dual SIM version is selling for just $99.

The Windows 10-powered handset is a solid smartphone for the money with a 5-inch 720 x 1280 display, quad-core Qualcomm chipset, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front cam, a removable 2000mAh battery and LTE connectivity.

Granted, the 650’s spec sheet can’t be called intense, but Windows 10 Mobile does make do with a minimum amount of hardware to function reasonably smooth. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to pull off any demanding games or use case scenarios, but a normal user’s essential daily usage needs should be covered.

Mind you, though, there’s an even cheaper deal on the Lumia 650. Cricket Wireless is selling it for $49.99 with a new activation and no annual contract. What’s more, the device is available for free to those who carry over their number from other carriers.

Also, Microsoft is currently selling the Lumia 950 XL for $499 with a free Lumia 950 thrown in, worth $399. It also gives away a free Display Dock, priced at $99. If you fancy a Windows 10 smartphone, that’s certainly a compelling deal.

Alas, such generous offerings are the outcome of a minuscule market share and falling revenue. But hey, at least those customers still interested in the platform can get a good deal on a Windows device.

The Lumia 950 XL is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM and features a 5.7-inch, 1440 x 2560 resolution screen, a 20MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, 32GB of expandable storage, and a 3340mAh battery. The Lumia 950 you get for free has largely the same features, but runs on the less powerful Snapdragon 808 chipset. Source: phonearena
