Diesels are unpopular here in the US and it will take a lot to convince the consumers into adopting a diesel-powered vehicle. This basically explains why the new diesel powertrain is offered on the most popular vehicle from Mazda.
For the Japanese carmaker, the diesel controversy is not affecting them at all because they have come up with the perfect diesel recipe that is legally green. Mazda shared that despite the shocking faces of the consumers, many of them have shown interest in adopting the diesel-powered CX-5.
Mazda added that this is making them consider launching the diesel mills on their other SUVs such as the CX-3 and the CX-9. The release map is not out yet but that did not stop many from linking the CX-3 to be the next vehicle to get the diesel makeover.
The CX-3 is another popular vehicle from Mazda and this is due to it being offered with AWD. If the CX-3 is to get the diesel makeover, the vehicle will be able to return greater fuel economy figures and capture a wider audience.
