Apple iPhone 8 Update: Upcoming Flagship Has Over 10 Prototypes, One With Curved Display

#iPhone8 #CurvedDisplayApple iPhone 8 Update: Upcoming Flagship Has Over 10 Prototypes, One With Curved Display : The Apple iPhone 8 is still a year away, but that will not stop new reports and rumors. The latest states that Apple is currently working on an iPhone with a curved display. The fruit company is apparently testing over 10 next-gen iPhone prototypes at the moment.

iPhone 8 With Curved Display

This is not a new rumor, as there have been many stating that the iPhone 8 will feature a curved display similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge. However, it is not known if Apple will release this iPhone next year or the year after.

As per the report from the Wall Street Journal, the company has its suppliers increase the production of slim OLED displays sporting higher resolutions than Samsung made displays. The current display on the Galaxy S7 Edge had a quad HD resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. However, Apple may still have to rely, to an extent, on the curved displays made by Samsung.

Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus has a 1080p resolution, so the company might finally be introducing higher resolution displays on its smartphones. A lot of users would definitely like higher resolution displays on the next-gen iPhone.

According to PhoneArena, Apple might release an iPhone with a curved display next year, but that would be more expensive than the regular versions. It could also be that Apple is saving this feature for 2018.

iPhone 8 Release Date

The curved display iPhone 8, if released in 2017, would be separate from the regular 4.7 inch and the Plus models. It is possible that the Plus model could get the curved display. The Plus variant will also include more RAM, a faster processor and other differentiating features.

Since the release of the iPhone 6, there has not been any major change in the design. Apple has only been improving the internals, cameras and making the body stronger. It is perhaps time for a big change in terms of design. Source : itechpost
