#Microsoft #SurfaceBook – Microsoft Surface Pro 5, Surface Phone & Surface Book 2 update: 2017 to be a busy year for Redmond tech giant : Microsoft’s yet-to-be-confirmed Surface Phone could arrive packing some serious specs online if leaks are accurate, Including a Whopping 6GB of RAM and detachable keyboard.

The latest information comes courtesy of Nokia Power User, and follows a week in the which Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, all-but confirmed the company is working on a mobile device in an interview with the Australian Financial Review.

According to NPU, the Surface Phone is currently being developed in a number of different configurations (as is standard practice in smartphone development), so it’s possible that either the 4GB or 6GB variant will not make it to market. Or perhaps Microsoft will offer different levels of RAM and of varying specs, similar to Windows computing hardware.

The prototypes do have the Snapdragon 835 processor in common, and the higher-spec models can reportedly already run X86 apps in Microsoft’s Continuum mode. The 4GB version can not yet do this, however.

Perhaps more concerningly, the unnamed sources Also say that the Surface Phone launch will not happen until towards the end of next year, the which could mean another whole year without any significant presence on mobile Windows 10.

Given that Microsoft currently has somewhere around 1 percent of the mobile market, it’s probably worth taking as long as it needs and getting it right this time. That’s probably cold comfort to Windows fans that wanted a Surface Phone in Q1 of 2017 though. Source: eliptech
